Final Project AECP Level 1

I have been asked to create a card/project using three components from the level 1 classes, and it needs to be for a teenager or masculine card/project. Well, I could not decide which I wanted to do, so I did two cards.

The first one I made is for a sweet sixteen birthday. I do not see very many cards for a sweet sixteen birthday, and so I thought that I would give that one a go.

I will be using Celebration: Stencil Techniques- I am using Eclipse Masking paper to make a stencil. Let It Shine- I am adding details with embossing powder, foil and a shimmer pen. And Easy Die Cutting Techniques- I used the dies for the circle and for the flowers. I also Used layering techniques form All About Layering.

I started the card by making a stencil with the Eclipse Masking paper. Cutting 5/8" strips and layering them down the card panel every 5'8". I used Limestone ink and blended the panel and then removed the stencil masks.

I then cut a circle from some Neenah 80 lb. cardstock and cut another circle out of Eclipse masking paper a size smaller that the circle. I then used VersaMark ink and heat embossed the outside in champagne colored embossing powder.

I laid the circle onto my panel and drew the circle on the panel and set it aside.

I die cut a one and a six five times  from QuicKutz Abigail Alphabet and Number dies from the same white cardstock and used VersaFine Onyx Black ink blend one of each number. I glued them together with some liquid Two Way glue pen.

I stamped the "sweet" from Concord & 9th's "Orange You Sweet" stamp with Pinkalicious ink and then stamped the outline in Jet Black ink. I added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen in a dark pink color (color is not listed on container) to the bottom part of the sweet image and then blended the rest of the letters with clear Wink of Stella. Then I fussy cut it out and set it aside.

I stamped the flowers and leaves from Life is Awesome stamp set using Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite, Razzleberry, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Moss inks. Then I used the coordinating dies and cut them out with a Big Shot.

I laid out how I wanted the flowers, leaves, and the circle and glued them down with Two-Way glue pen and 3M foam tape. I then glued the numbers down to the circle with the Two-Way glue pen.

I thought that this needed something else. I used decofoil adhesive pen and Heidi Swap foil to add some foil details around the outside of the panel and circle. This would have been a lot easier before I glued everything onto the panel, but it really needed something else.

I glued my panel to a black card base with Tombo adhesive tape runner.

I added the "sweet" to the card with 3M foam tape on the outer part and Two-Way glue pen on the inside. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and then added some of the decofoil adhesive pen in spots and added foil specks to the flowers as well.

For the second card, I will be using For The Guys- I am doing an artistic impression by alcohol inking a background on velum. Let It Shine- I used foil on the background and embossing powder for a sentiment. Clean and Simple Boutique cards- I am using simple styling along with foiled details.

I used Alcohol Inks, Blending Solution and Clearprint 48 lb. velum to create the background panel. When it was almost dry I added some silver foil to the velum, and rubbed it around. I set that aside to work on the other components.

I stamped the "Striped Background" from My Favorite Things onto a strip of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock. I did this diagonally across the stamp so that It would be a longer stamped piece. When I laid this on top of the alcohol inked background, it did not stand out enough. So, I used a black Copic marker to fill in every other stripe. I then cut it down tot he right size. I cut a 1/4" strip of black cardstock as well.

I cut the "Party" from My Favorite Things five times and glued them together with a To Way glue pen. Then I applied VersaMark ink to it and Silver Heat Embossed it.

I stamped the sentiment from Altenew's Birthday Greeting Stamp set onto black cardstock with VersaMark ink and white heat embossed it.

I layered the velum panel onto a white card base and adhered the left edge down. I adhered the striped strip down the left edge and glued the black strip onto that. I then adhered the sentiment strip down along with the die-cut party to finish this card.

I was glad to have a chance to make these cards to complete the first level of classes.
And thanks for visiting!

  1. Tremendous effort and post, Linda! I love your composition of the Sweet 16! Your use of circle die and floral images is awesome! The masculine card's totally sophisticated and handsome! The alcohol inking is spot on, too! I really like how you used the gold foil! Thanks so much for entering your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Beautiful colors and design. Well done on your final challenge for Level 1!
