Dad's Day

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 388

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Welcome!

Hope you had a great week.

I started my card today by stamping the Hero Arts Abstract Wave Bold Prints background stamp with VersaMark ink and white heat embossed that onto a panel of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock. Then I used Distress inks in Salty Ocean and Chipped Saphire with the Chipped Saphire around the edges.

I used the Abigail QuicKutz dies to cut the Dad out 4 times, then I temporarily adhered them to a strip of cardstock and used Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to blend some color on the letters. I glued them together with a Two-way glue pen and decided that they were a little to brown, so I added a little Carved Pumpkin Distress ink to make it more orange.

By the way this card is for my Father-In-Law and they are Broncos fans, so That is why I chose the colors that I did.

I used the All About Dad stamp set from My Favorite Things to stamp a secondary sentiment onto a piece of Black cardstock and used VersaMark ink and white heat embossed it. I used scotch tape to cover where I changed the way the stamp was laid out by using scotch tape to mask off the stamp when inking up the stamp and removing the scotch tape and then stamping. Then I moved the stamp to where I wanted, and repeated the process until I had this the way I wanted.

I adhered the blended background to a white card base and then cut a tay shape from My Favorite Things Elegant Rectangle STAX from Neenah White Cardstock and punched a tag ho;e in the top and adhered that to my panel.

I adhered the Dad letters to the card with a two-way glue pen and then adhered the strip to the card with strong adhesive and 3M foam tape to the edges.

I am so glad that you could join me here toady.

Altenew- Remember This

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Altenew June Inspiration Challenge

Welcome!

I started this card today by taking a panel of Neenah Solar White 80 lb. cardstock and cutting the edge with Altenew Remember This coordinating dies. I did this by doing a partial die cutting technique along the right edge.

I then stamped the images from the Remember This set using Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama and Thistle inks and Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery, Lucky Limeade, and Orchid Opulence inks.

Then I took a black and purple Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and sprinkled them on the panel, avoiding the right edge.

I used sentiments from the Altenew Mega Succulent stamp set. I stamped the Happy with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then clear heat embossed it. I then took a strip of black cardstock and used VersaMark ink and white heat embossed the sub sentiment.

I cut a 2"piece of heavy weight velum and adhered it to the right edge of a purple card base, leaving an 1/8" border. I adhered the panel on top of the card with 3M foam tape and added some sequins to the card with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

Thanks for visiting me here, hope you have a great day!

Not a Traditional Wedding Card

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Welcome!

A couple of months ago I saw Sandy Allnock use this image, and fell in love with it.

I started this card by figuring out the layout of where I wanted the image and where I wanted the sentiment.

I am using Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock for the panel.

I inked up the giraffe image from Impression Obsession with Simon Says Stamp Stone ink. And then with a baby wipe going around the edges to make the edges fade out. I stamped that, and then did the same thing with Memento Tuxedo black ink, but inking up less of the edges of the stamp.

I also stamped the image on some Eclipse masking paper and then cut it out with a pair of scissors.

I stamped the sentiment with the same black ink and then covered the giraffe image with the masking tape so that I could use the spritzer tool to add a little blue around the giraffes.

I used a B00 Copic marker to add the color and then I removed the mask.

I then used Copic markers to color in the giraffe images. I used E19, E25, E53, E97, Y17, Y21, Y23, YR00, and YR14.

I then used the My Favorite Things Rectangle STAX A2 dies to cut the panel down so that I could add a black piece of cardstock underneath my panel and then a turquoise colored card base as well.

I really like this set, and hope to get the chance to use it again soon.

I hope that you have a great day!

Mr. and Mrs.

Polka Dots

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Welcome!

We recently attended a wedding reception and when I purchased the gift, I bought a cute bag to put the gift in and wanted a card that matched it.

I tried to use a stencil that I had but the dots were too small for the look that I was going for.

I started by making a mask of the sentiment and laying it in the center of a card panel of Nina Solar White cardstock. Then I took some ink in three different colors. One of them being black, and stamped the dots (or berries) from the Altenew Majestic Mistletoe stamp set onto the panel.
Then I took the mask off the panel and treated it with an anti-static powder tool and stamped again using VersaMark ink and gold heat embossing it.
I stamped the Sentiment onto the panel using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig so that I could stamp it twice and get a dark crisp impression.

I adhered the panel to a black card base and added a white panel to the inside for a place to write the message.

I will definitely be making another card similar to this one at some point. I love polka-dots!

Hope you liked this and use this idea for yourself.

Have a great day!

Hello Little Cutie

My Favorite Things Color Challenge 94

Welcome!

This is card that I created with the other half of the panel that I created for the last post.

I absolutely loved this color combination! I immediately thought of  baby fabric that I have used a number of years ago to make a flannel blanket for one of my kids...... They are not little anymore.

I used Simon Says Stamp Apricot and Lake Shores ink along with Broken China Distress ink and My Favorite Things Lemon Chiffon ink to stamp the Images from Stamp'in Up! I'm Here and Nursery Neccessities stamp sets.

Once I had my cardstock all stamped, I cut it so that I had two cards.

I added Wink Of Stella to all the little images on the panel.

I cut a piece of velum that was an inch wider than the panel and wrapped it around the back of the panel and adhered it on the back of the panel.

It lost the Wink of Stella through the vellum, so I added it to the vellum .

I die cut three Hello die cuts from some teal cardstock with My Favorite Things Hello Die-Namics. I glued them together with a two way glue pen and added them to the panel. I stamped the Little Cutie from Stamp'in Up! Nursery Necessities onto the panel with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I adhered the panel to a teal card base and added some clear sequins to the card.

Thanks for visiting!

I used the Concord and 9th Bold and Brushy alphabet to stamp welcome little one onto some black cardstock with VersaMark ink and then white heat embossing it. I didn't like how much of the card it would take up so I bubble cut each word out.

I added Wink Of Stella to all the little images on the panel.

I added little pieces of 3M foam tape to the back of the sentiment strips and then adhered them to the card panel. I then adhered the panel to a colored card base.

I added some clear sequins to the card and that finishes this card.

Birthday Shaker Card

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 389

My Favorite Things Color Challenge 94

Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Welcome! Hope you are having a terrific day.

I started my card today by using the My Favorite Things A2 Rectangle STAX set 1, and using the smallest rectangle from the set, cutting 3 rectangles in a panel of Neenah Solar White Cardsock.

I then used the same rectangle die and the second to smallest of the My Favorite Things A2 Rectangle STAX set 2, and made three frames from some gold foil cardstock.

I used Simon Says Stamp Apricot and Lake Shores ink along with Broken China Distress ink and My Favorite Things Lemon Chiffon to color in the three rectangles and a star I created from the My Favorite Things Stitched Star Peek-a-Boo Window die.

I stamped the chick, cow, and sheep from the My Favorite Things Animal Farm on a piece of window acetate where they would by over the rectangle cut-outs. I stamped the cow on both the acetate and the cut-out panel.

Then I glued the frames around the rectangles and the panel to the acetate. Then I drew on the parts of the cow that was covered by the frame, and colored in the cows spots. I also added more curly wool to the sheep.

I then adhered the colored rectangles to a black piece of cardstock and applied some 3M   foam tape around them. I laid the cut-out panel on top and decided that I wanted some ribbon above and below the cut out shapes.

I added some small gold and clear sequins to two of theft-out areas, and silver glass glitter to the center cut-out area. then I adhered the panel tot he top.

I wanted to dress up the star so I stamped the Howdy from the Animal Farm set on it and used a Faber Castel liner pen to add dots and dashes to the outer edges.

I used a scrap strip of black cardstock to stamp the Happy Birthday from All of Us, and then white heat embossed it. I adhered these to the panel and then adhered the panel to a Neenah Solar White card base.

Thank you so much for visiting me.
