You Are Amazing

Altenew Challenge

Altenew _March 2018_Inspirationphoto

I love magnolia bushes. They are some of the first flowers in the spring, and the colors are beautiful.
I wanted to use colored pencils to color these in. I couldn't decide which cardstock I wanted to use, so I stamped it in Momento Black ink on three different yardsticks. Some Stampin' Up cardstock, one from my local craft store, and Strathmore Toned Gray one.

I started with one from my local craft store, and knew right off that I did not like the way the colored pencils were working on the cardstock.

I used the Stampin' Up cardstock next and did not really like how pink the flowers ended up. The challenge colors were more peach, so off to try again. I tried the Strathmore cardstock next. And did not like that one either.

So I finally decided to stamp another one on Nina Solar White cardstock. The only thing was, I was not thrilled with the flower that I stamped in the upper right corner. I decided to cut it off, and tried the coordinating die. But did not cut very well in my Big Shot on an angle so I fussy cut it out.

I used a piece of Nina Solar White to make a card base. I used some 3M masking tape to mask off the back of the card and used the Spritzer tool to add mists of color with the Copic Marker.

I stamped the "You" from the Altenew Build-a-flower Magnolia set in VersaMark ink and black heat embossed it. I stamped the small sentiment strip with VersaMark ink on black cardstock and white heat embossed that one. Then cut it to the length, and mounted it, and the panel with 3M foam tape to the card base.

I added Wink Of Stella to the flower petals, and that completes this one.

Thanks! I hope you are inspired to try something new.

adding pinterest script 3. Changing the Position of the Pin it! button The cool thing about this code is that you have some freedom over where the Pinterest button for Blogger will go over the image. Take a look at the code that you just copied and pasted into the HTML for the word 'center'.
