SSS Wednesday Challenge
Easter Themed
I have recently purchased this beautiful Magnolia Stamp set from Altenew and wanted to use this set today. They also had some suggested colors.
I started off by stamping the Magnolia branch with VetsaFine Onyx Black ink onto a Piece of Nina Solar White 80lb. cardstock several times. I also stamped the image on another piece of copy paper so I could use it to line up the next layers of stamping as I moved through the different colors.
I will be using Stampin up inks, since that is what I have, and I am trying to figure out what inks are what I want to purchase next. I skipped the first layer, since I wanted the magnolias to be white with some pink and purple at the base. I used the second layer and stamped it with Sweet Sugarplum.
I moved to the next layer, and stamped it in Wisteria Wonder.
Then I stamped the branches with Soft Suede.
I then stamped the first layer of leaves with Pear Pizzazz.
And the second leaf layer in Garden Green.
Since I had purchased the coordinating dies that went with this set, I wanted to cut the edge on a diagonal, with the blossoms. Since I was using the regular big shot, I was only able to cut the one in the middle because of the angle that I had chosen. Then I fussy cut the other two out trying to keep a similar white edge.
I did make some masks out of Eclipse masking paper, and did ink blending with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks onto the panel and onto a card base that I used more masking to mask the back of the card so I would not get ink on the back.
I put my card base into my stamp positioner and stamped my sentiment with VersaMark ink and black heat embossed it. I added some fun foam with Tombo Permanent Tape Runner. I outlined the flowers with an EK Success journaling pen. I added some white gel pen dots to the flowers. And finally added some Wink Of Stella to the flowers.
That finishes this card.
