Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Floral Frenzy

Altenew was the inspiration for this weeks challenge. And this company has some pretty amazing floral stamps and dies. It was hard to choose just which one I wanted to use. 

I had not used the set "Wild About You" previously, so I decided that I wanted to use this one. I happened to watch a video from Sandy Allnock where she watercolored some tulips onto a business size card and loved the size. I will link to the video here if you would like to take a look.

I started off by putting my piece of Canson Watercolor paper into my Misti and using some Distress inks and a spray bottle, I did a watercolor technique.

I stamped the base layers of the flowers and the stems with Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron. I inked up the stamp and then spritzed it with water before stamping it onto the paper.

I stamped the second flower layers using the same technique and Wilted Violet and Mustard Seed.

The stems and leaved did not have a second layer, so I used a paintbrush and Mowed Lawn to add some details to them.

I Stamped the "Wild" with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it in black. I did this twice to give it better coverage on the watercolor paper.

I adhered the panel to a green card base with some 1" double-sided tape. I stamped the sentiment strip with VersaMark ink onto the same color of cardstock and heat embossed it in Black as well.

I cut it down and adhered it to my card with some 3M foam tape.

This was a fun technique and I plan to do this one again soon.
