ALTENEW: SEPTEMBER 2022 WINTER MAGIC COLLECTION RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY ($300 in total prizes)

Hello,

I am so happy you joined me today, and if you are playing along on the hop, you should have found your way here from Maryam Perez. You can find more info over on the Altenew Card Blog, and you can shop all the goodies with the links I’ve provided for you down below, THANKS!

This is one of those cards that I loved all the elements, but, when put together and photographed it, it wasn't what I was hoping for. My circle frame ended up too large.- but, it was staying the way it was. If I did this again, The circle frame would be smaller.

Well, I ended up pulling this apart and rearranging things yesterday.

I think why I went with the size of frame that I did in the beginning, was because that was the size of circle dies I liked better. But, I think the second card is a better version. I used the Shrub Rose Stamp and Dies along with Itty Bitty Branches Die Set to create the foliage for the side of the circle frame that I created using the Fine Rings Circle Die Set long with another from my stash.  I colored the flowers with the Artist Markers in R302, and G011, using the colorless blender to get a variation on the color. I Gold Heat Embossed the sentiment onto some velum and cut it out with the circle die as well. I dry embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Organic Linen 3D Embossing Folder and adhered that to a white card base with two strips of Gilded Glitter Cardstock on either side of it. Adhered everything to the card and finished with some Satin Gold Sequins.

I created the background for this card by blending Silverstone, Cloudy Sky, and Dark Night Crisp Dye Inks onto a Solar White Panel with Small Blending Brushes, the darkest around the outside. I colored another piece of cardstock with the Cloudy Sky Ink, and cut the snowflakes from the Layered Snowflakes 2 Dies as well as a small one from the Layered Snowflakes Dies. I cut more from white and silver glitter cardstock and adhered them to the outside of the panel. I cut the "wishing" from  Tiny Sentiments: Wishing dies in some Dark Night colored cardstock. Stamped the sub-sentiment on some white cardstock and adhered everything to a white card base that I colored the outer edge with the Dry Night Ink.

I've used the Hawaiian Shores Markers and the Poinsettia & Berries Stamp Set to color the background of this card. I colored with the stamp with the Evergreen pen, - spritzed it with water and then stamped it onto a Solar White panel, then spritzed and stamped it again. (second generation) On a separate piece of cardstock , I stamped the poinsettia layers in Permanent Black, Heart Beat, and Velvet Inks. Then I used a white chalk pencil to lighten up the inside of the leaves and used the Evergreen Pen to color in the flower center. Used the Die to cut it out and adhere it to the card with Instant Dimension Foam Tape. Stamped the sentiment with Obsidian Black Ink.

I made this tag like I made the card, but added stamped berries to the mix.

For the coasters, I was given a wood burning tool almost two years ago, and thought I would try it out. And what better way, than beautiful images like in this set. I stamped the image with permanent black ink, and then used a wood burning tool to enhance the image. If you were lucky enough to get the Circle Of Feathers Stamp Set free, or pay for it (for she’s a beauty!) I made a coaster like the card I created for that set.

This was a fun test of the little wood burning tool I received. I hope you have a fun time completing the rest of the hop. Your next stop is Nathalie DeSousa.
