ALTENEW AUGUST CRAFT-A-FLOWER: CALIFORNIA GIANTS RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY

Welcome!

If you have found your way here because of the hop, you have come from Sandhya Iyer. If not, you can join in. The first stop on the hop is HERE

When I receive a Die set, the first thing that I like to do, is see what all the shapes look like die cut. So I took the CAF California Giants Die Set and cut them out of some white cardstock several times. Then I laid them out to see what different flowers I could make out of the set.

I blended some inks with the Small Blending Brushes onto the shapes and decided what flowers I was going to create.

I used a small blending brush to add some color to a white panel in the Deep Iris and Midnight Violet, then I adhered the different flowers, leaves, and stems with some liquid glue .

Once they were dry I adhered that to a green card base.

Next, I saw someone use Gliding Wax on die cuts, out of black cardstock, and it made them look like metal. I will try to find what I saw and link it at the bottom. It was incredible. But, I live in a small town, where I could not find any Gilding wax.

So I pulled out mu Gold and Silver Ink pads that I typically used for Christmas time projects. With My finger and a very light hand, I blended the two colors over the die cut images. Both colors, some gold, some silver, and both on a lot of areas.

It was not quite the metal look, but I still liked the effect that I was able to achieve.

I used the Dainty Swiss Dots Stamp and stamped it onto a white card panel with some Arctic and Persian Blue Inks. Then I used the Small Blending Brushes and some Evening Gray ink over the top of the stamped dot image.

I adhered the polka dot panel to a khaki card base, and then adhered the flower parts and sentiment to the card.

Thanks for visiting!
