ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: BEARDED IRIS RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY

Today I am joining with Altenew and their release of the Build-A-Flower: Bearded Iris.

If you are looking for the most elegant and realistic iris, you are in the right place! This stamp set prominently features a gorgeous bearded iris outline with four additional coloring layers, along with its stems and leaves. You may use the other iris outline as background foliage, or simply add it to floral arrangements stamped as is or colored in with your favorite coloring medium.

I have created two cards for this hop. The first one I started by ink blending the background on a panel of Neenah solar white cardstock.  I used Altenew Sunkissed, Autumn Blaze, Cloudy Sky, and Dark Night Crisp Dye Inks with Altenew Blending Brushes.

I then Stamped the Iris and the leaf with Altenew Permanent Black Ink, and added the layers with Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Firebrick, Misty Morning, and Nimbus Crisp Dye Inks.

I stamped the sentiment in Permanent Black Ink and cut it down. Then I rubbed the edges with some of the inks and used an Altenew small blending brush to blend it across the strip. I adhered the panel to an orange one that I dry embossed a frame onto it. Then I adhered that to a white card base.

Finally I used some Altenew Gold Sequins to the card.

For my second card, I started by using Alcohol Inks in Buttercream, Sapphire, and Desert Night on Yupo paper. I used some alcohol and blending solution to move the inks around on the paper.

I used an anti-static powder tool and then stamped the flower and leaves onto some velum with Altenew Embossing Ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder, then I cut them out. 

I used Altenew's Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets to adhere the velum to the alcohol inked panel. These sheets are amazing! Just wish I had thought about using it before I had cut the flowers out. So I had to cut them out again once the velum was applied to the adhesive sheet.

I made the sentiment strip in the same way as the first card, but with colors that would go with this one. Used a rectangle die to dry emboss the blue panel behind the first. And adhered them to a white card base.
